April 2: Networks of Holocaust Memory in Third Generation Graphic Narratives

During the online streamed lecture, Dana Mihăilescu will present the Amy Kurzweil’s debut graphic memoir, Flying Couch (2016), in order to consider how the Holocaust narrative at the core of this graphic narrative is negotiated by the three generations of Kurweil’s family. Hence, she will highlight an ethical, future-oriented use of mediating forms of Holocaust memories for third generation artists.

Accommodation fee reduced by 50%

March 24, 2020

On 23rd March, the University of Warsaw rector issued an order which states that students, doctoral candidates, postgraduate students of the School of Education of the Polish-American Freedom Foundation and the University of Warsaw, and participants of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange, who live in UW facilities, will pay a partial accommodation fee in April.

Attention! Important information during the closing of the University of Warsaw Library (BUW) (10.03 – 14.04.2020)

Student IDs will be automatically renewed until May 31st

Polish Minister of Science and Higher Education has now officially decided that your student IDs will be automatically renewed until May 31st, without the need to appear in the students’ office in person.

Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Humanities and Social Sciences at the ASC

March 5, 2020

On March 5, 2020, at the Kazimierz Palace, the Executive Director of the US-Polish Fulbright Commission Justyna Janiszewska and Professor Maciej Duszczyk, the UW Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations, signed an agreement establishing the Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Humanities and Social Sciences at the American Studies Center.
