This project seeks to elucidate the unknown and under-researched aspects of the lives of Polish immigrant and Polish-American women of the second generation who settled in and inhabited the United States during the period of vast social and economic changes of the first decades of the 20th century. It will be a critical study that adopts ethnicity, social class, age, and gender as main categories of analysis, focusing on the lived experiences of Polonia women in private and intimate spheres.
